The Golf GTE is Volkswagen's first plug-in hybrid. It's powered by a 1.4-liter TSI coupled with a 75-kilowatt electric motor. Together, they put out 150 kilowatts, allowing the Golf GTE to go from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 7.6 seconds. The GTE can cover up to 50 kilometers on battery power alone, but offers a total range of about 940 kilometers.
