US President George Bush has vowed to keep up the pressure on Israeli and Palestinian leaders in order to complete a peace deal by next year that would include the creation of a Palestinian state. He made the promise at the White House following talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Washington has also appointed a special envoy for Middle East security. In the meantime, Russia has offered to host a follow-up mideast conference early next spring. +++SYN-MAZ+++
