President Maduro denies Venezuela traffics drugs into US

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has written a letter to his Donald Trump, denying accusations that his country is involved in drug smuggling to the United States in the Caribbean.

Amid rising tensions over Venezuela's alleged involvement in drug smuggling in Caribbean waters, the country's military is training civilians in Caracas to defend against possible US attacks. Following several deadly US military attacks on boats suspected of transporting narcotics, President Nicolas Maduro reached out to his US counterpart, Donald Trump, calling for dialogue between Venezuela and the United States.
