The Swiss franc has appreciated 20 percent against the euro in the last 12 months. It went up against the dollar as well. For Switzerland this is becoming a problem, especially in its export sector. The high value of the franc is making Swiss goods expensive on the international markets, and exports make up half of the country's gross domestic product. Swiss companies are paying the price.
