The authorities in Burma have deployed security forces in Rangoon after another day of mass protests against the government. Earlier, thousands of Buddhist monks marched peacefully through the center of the city despite a threat by the ruling generals to crack down on demonstrations. The protests against the regime are the largest in 20 years.
