Cancer affects one in every 1,000 people in India. A cancer hospital in Punjab is attracting patients from all over northern India for its specialized care.

India is facing a growing cancer crisis, with around 1.56 million new cases and over 870,000 deaths reported in 2024. The most common cancers are breast and cervical in women, and oral and lung in men.

Many patients are diagnosed late, and access to affordable treatment remains a major challenge, particularly in rural areas. One hospital is working to change the situation for the better.
