Barack Obama's presidency begins as the world goes through one of the worst global economic crises in history. In his inaugural address, Obama he called on his fellow Americans to rise to the difficult economic and political challenges. His message was that optimism, self-confidence and American values are the key to overcoming the challenges ahead. The new president will need to get down to work, as the problems are almost overwhelming.
