Deutsche Bahn, the German railway system, has announced new compensation regulations for train cancellations and delays. The new rules, to go into effect October 202, will give rail passengers whose train is more than 60 minutes late a 20 percent refund of the ticket price. Up to now, the railway has given vouchers worth €10 ($12.50) to passengers whose high-speed ICE trains were delayed by 30 minutes. In the future the railway will also cover the costs for a hotel room or taxi ride up to €80 if a trip cannot be completed as planned by midnight.
