Just wanted to let your listeners know that many informed Americans, myself included, warmly support the efforts of Germany and France to resist the misguided determination of the Bush administration to attack Iraq. Don't forget, most of us did not vote for Bush! Don't let our friendship be destroyed by this incompetent, isolationist administration.

-- Raymond Harpin

It is discouraging that the naive leaders of Germany do not understand the seriousness of a ton of anthrax and countless other biological and chemical weapons that are in the hands of the Iraqi government. Do they think that it is meant for anything other than harm? Are they perhaps more interested in working towards some economic objectives instead? I am sorry to see that the Germans are now siding with the Russians against the Americans on this life-threatening issue for us here in the U.S. The term "relevance" has become the keyword whenever the UN and now NATO is discussed here among my co-workers and neighbors. I am sorry to see this state of affairs. How did Germany let itself become so far estranged from us? But we have got to prevent another disaster similar to the one we had on Sept. 11, 2001, and we have got to do it before even more time elapses because every day that it is delayed, the Iraqis have more time to build upon their evil plans.

I am a citizen of the United States. For the first time, we are appealing directly to U.N. member nations. Please help us to stop the criminals who have taken over at the highest levels within our government. "Consent of the governed" no longer applies in the United States. Unless these madmen are stopped before they begin, pre-emptive attacks against imaginary foes will mark the beginning of a global nightmare. We beg you to help us while there is still time. Vote NO to allowing the U.S. to attack Iraq. And thank you all for your priceless support.

-- Jonmark Pierce

It's certainly time that the U.S. pulls out of NATO. What is the point of an alliance if one nation, in this case Turkey, needs assistance and gets stabbed in the back by three fellow members of the alliance? If the U.S. can't trust the other members, we should just leave. Moreover, if we are leaving, shouldn't the German government repay us for the billions of dollars we wasted rebuilding Germany under the Marshall Plan? I lost relatives in WWII fighting in France, and I am furious that their lives were given up in vain to helping to liberate the French. When we leave, maybe the Russians will come and take our place in Western Europe. Ask the Hungarians, the Poles, the Czechs about what it is like to live in oppression. You've wanted us out for quite a while, so you'll be glad to know that many Americans are currently more than willing to leave you to your own devices.

-- Fred Schlemmermeyer

Is Rumsfeld not popular in Europe? He's not universally popular here either. Many of his utterances are embarrassments to intelligent Americans; but look who appointed him to office!

-- Jack Eulenspiegel

How unfortunate that some German and French citizens are offended by Donald Rumsfeld's comments. We Americans are equally offended by the lack of support from those same citizens in our country's efforts to provide peace, stability and prosperity around the world. It seems the Germans and French are only with the United States when they are desperate. If Saddam Hussein is not taken care of soon, one day he will see to it that Germany and or France will certainly be in a desperate situation.

-- Carl Mahrenholz

I would just like to say how upset I was when I read what our defense secretary (Donald Rumsfeld) had to say about Germany and France. I, as an American, have nothing but respect for Germany and France as well as the rest of Europe and I just want the people living there to know that not all Americans share our politicians' views of Europe. And I don't blame any country in Europe for pushing for caution on Iraq because you all are a LOT closure to them, and are in a more direct firing line than the US. So I'd advise you all to do what you need to do and you have at least one American's support and respect.
