"If an Islamic festival comes in cold winter then we enjoy and celebrate the religious festival. Muslims celebrate their festivals with great enthusiasm and religious fervor. They wear specially purchased costumes and shoes. Last November we celebrated “Eid-u-Adha” - the Sacrifice Festival. On this eve we sacrifice the animals and eat beef and mutton, make different delicious and spicy dishes and distributed the meat to poor and needy families and close friends.
In Pakistan, the Christian community celebrates Christmas festivities according to their religious traditions. Every year they celebrate this festival with new colorful and traditional costumes keeping with the chilly cold winter in mind. I reside near a Christian colony in my city and observe their activities and celebration and feel happiness at seeing that they are observing their festival without any fear in the city. Along with the Christian community, all Pakistanis also celebrate the birthday of Muhammad Ali Jinnah on December 25. To battle the cold weather we burn wood, turn on the electric or gas heater and eat dry fruits, drink tea, green tea and coffee."
