Nobel Prize-winning writer Günter Grass was one of Germany's most influential voices. Best known for "The Tin Drum," he forced the country to deal with its uncomfortable past - and his own as well.

Günter Grass passed away on April 13, 2015 at the age of 87. On May 10, a memorial service is being held in his hometown of Lübeck, attended by Germany's top politicians and intellectuals. Click on the links below for DW's coverage of Grass' life and work.
