Renewed Thai-Cambodian clashes displace tens of thousands

The second cross-border clash between Thailand and Cambodia this year broke out on Monday. Current reports indicate at least 13 people have been killed and over 100,000 civilians have fled.

As fighting reignites along the Thailand-Cambodia border, ordinary civilians once again bear the brunt — displaced, anxious, and unsure when the violence will end.

A US- and Malaysia-brokered ceasefire in July sought to calm the century-old dispute, but it has unraveled, with each side now accusing the other of sparking the latest clashes.
