Biomechanics experts and trauma surgeons at Berlin’s Charité Hospital are working with materials scientists from the Max Planck Institute to find ways of speeding up bone healing.

They are looking for new scaffolding materials that will aid bone tissue production and that themselves will be gradually transformed to bone during the healing process.
