Nineteen-year-old Brian was shot dead in broad daylight in the Kayole slum in Kenya. The Kenyan police are killing suspected criminals in an underground war against crimes - as many as 3,000 in the last year.

It has happened again: four young men shot dead in broad daylight in Kenya’s Kayole slum. One of them is 19-year-old Brian, who neighbors was killed by the police. Kenya is still seen as one of Africa’s more stable and economically successful democracies but the veneer hides the dark reality of extrajudicial killings and a culture of impunity.
