People are fleeing en masse as Israel targets the city of Tyre in southern Lebanon. Residents describe fear, displacement and uncertainty as Israel escalates airstrikes with the stated objective of driving Hezbollah out.

Israeli airstrikes have struck residential areas in Tyre, southern Lebanon, after evacuation warnings were issued.

Many residents fled within minutes, leaving neighborhoods nearly empty; others stayed despite the danger, citing ties to their homes and livelihoods.

The escalation in fighting between Israel and Hezbollah has displaced more than 1 million people, worsening an already severe humanitarian crisis and complicating efforts to reach a ceasefire.
