Richard Walker

June 19, 2012

Richard joined DW in 2006 as a member of the newsroom team. For several years he produced and edited the Journal behind the scenes, before moving to the other side of the camera as a presenter.

It's a job that doesn't seem like work for a self-confessed news addict. And this is a fascinating time to be in the news media. Richard is particularly interested in how power is shifting from the west to the emerging economies - and how that process is being accelerated by the financial and sovereign debt crises.

Besides being a "Wahlberliner" Richard has a strong interest in Asia, and has lived and travelled widely in China and Japan. He graduated in History and Oriental Studies at the University of Cambridge.
