Understanding bees

Bees communicate with each other in complex ways, but the best known of these is what's called the 'waggle dance'. To find out more, researchers in Berlin developed a robotic bee that was introduced into a hive.

Just like a worker bee, it was programmed to 'dance' information about a food source's direction, quality and distance from the hive to its inhabitants.
