Russia and Poland mark the 70th anniversary of the Katyn Massacre

In an unprecedented diplomatic show, the Russian and Polish prime ministers have honoured the 22,000 Poles murdered 70 years ago by Soviet forces in the Katyn Forest. Putin's speech at the event did not include an apology - which many Poles had hoped for - but his attendance at the memorial ceremony is seen as a gesture of good will and reconciliation.
