At least four people were killed as Russia intensified attacks on Kyiv, striking the Ukrainian capital with hundreds of drones and missiles, including a rare hypersonic weapon used for the third time in the war.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy surveyed damage in Kyiv after a massive overnight Russian attack that struck around 50 sites, including homes, shops and government buildings. He accused Moscow of targeting civilians.

The hours-long barrage involved hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles, most of which were intercepted, according to Ukraine. Residents and business owners described shock and uncertainty as they assess the damage, while Russia said the strikes were retaliation for alleged Ukrainian attacks.
