Russia launched a new wave of attacks across Ukraine overnight. The Russian strikes hit apartments as well as energy infrastructure, causing power cuts in many regions as temperatures plunge towards zero.

Russian missile and drone strikes overnight caused widespread damage across Ukraine, hitting energy infrastructure, homes, businesses, and a major bridge in Kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia launched 36 ballistic missiles and 172 drones, accusing Moscow of trying to plunge the country into darkness ahead of peace talks in Abu Dhabi next week.

The attacks triggered power cuts in many regions, while residents in Kyiv were left clearing debris and assessing the destruction.
