The German software maker SAP is going after its main rival Oracle--on Oracle's home turf. SAP is buying the US database sofware maker Sybase. Price tag four point six billion euros. Sybase is an underdog in the software sector--but it gives SAP premium access to the US market--and puts it right in Oracle's backyard.
