# Kosovo's EU justice mission says it will examine allegations by the Council of Europe that prime minister Hashim Thaci led a crime ring in the late 1990s. A draft report of Europe's top human rights body also says Thaci's mafia-style group was engaged in assassinations and organ trafficking. The Kosovan government has reacted angrily to the allegations. They come just days after Thaci was declared the winner of Kosovo's first election since independence.
