In Sesto, a mainly German-speaking village in the Italian Dolomites, architect Ulla Hell along with her colleagues from the company Plasma Studio have designed new kinds of buildings that blend in with the surrounding landscape. Her first building - the Strata Hotel - features larch-wood slats that stretch all the way around the building. It was opened in 2007.
