Caring, sharing economy?

Collaborative consumption is about sharing and swapping everyday objects such as books, toys and clothing. But music, homes and cars are being shared more and more often. Numerous online platforms offer differing forms of the sharing economy.

The new alternative economic model is increasingly popular, whether it’s at sites like "Airbnb,” where people offer places to stay in more than 190 countries, or the smartphone app "WHY own it,” which enables friends to share items. Many established companies are beginning to test the idea's potential and are expanding their business models - as in car sharing, for instance.
