Skin care - recipes for home made face masks and what creams to use in summer and winter time
Banana Cream Face Mask to combat dry skin
Mash half a banana and mix it with one tablespoon of cream. Apply it on clean skin and leave it there for 10 minutes. Remember to avoid the eye area. Afterwards wash your face with warm water.
Apple curd and honey moisturising mask
Grate half an apple (or one small apple) and mix it with one tablespoon of curd and one teaspoon of honey. Apply it on clean skin and leave it there for 10 minutes. Remember to avoid the eye area. Afterwards wash your face with warm water.
First aid for sunburnt skin
A great home remedy is to make a compression with black tea that’s been left to cool. Wring it out (or dip a cotton cloth into cold black tea) and place it on the sunburnt area. The tannins moisturise the skin and soothe irritation.
Summer and Winter skin cream
When the skin has a film of sweat, it’s not good to apply the oily creams used in winter. It’s better to use something water based, so you need to swap creams. More fat in winter, more water based creams in summer.
