Political turmoil continues in the German state of Hessen following the indecisive election there at the end of January. The Social Democrats' candidate for state premier, Andrea Ypsilanti, has decided not to run -- saying +++LM REIN+++ she can't guarantee a majority when it comes to a vote in the state assembly. Her announcement came after another SPD assembly member Dagmar Metzger said she would not vote for Ypsilanti, who had first vowed not to have anything to do with the Left Party and then said she would after all seek its support.
