The Spanish Football Federation has confirmed its president, Luis Rubiales, has quit. His resignation follows growing protests and pressure after he forcibly kissed Spanish team player Jenni Hermoso, as the team celebrated its World Cup final win. Since the tournament, Rubiales had lost the backing of the federation, and much of the country.
