Still taboo: Homosexuality in sport

Homosexual politicians are socially acceptable, but homosexual sports personalities aren't. Professional soccer players are reticent to come out of the closet, fearing that this would spell the end of their careers. Politicians are aware of the problem. Now the German parliament's Sports Committee is calling for greater openness and is working to combat homophobia in sport.
