Stress research - 24 hours on-line

Does stress always place a burden the body? Or can the stress of a demanding but satisfying career have a positive physical effect? Scientists at the University of Karlsruhe are using a special sensor to research this.

The device is worn for a 24 hour period and measures things like heart rate and blood pressure, which can then be read on the wearer’s mobile phone. Tomorrow Today joins a busy restaurant owner to see what happens to some of his vital signs during the course of the day. Our test patient enjoys his job and feels good, but the sensor says he’s under permanent stress, even when he’s asleep. Watch Tomorrow Today to learn what the doctor then orders.
