When a person perspires so much that it is considered abnormal, doctors call it hyperhidrosis. Experts differentiate between two types, secondary hyperhidrosis, which is attributable to other illnesses such as hormone imbalances, and primary hyperhidrosis, which has no recognizable cause.

Among the methods for treating it are Botox injections, subcutaneous sweat gland suction curettage (SSGSC) and laser treatment.
