Cherries contain many important vitamins and minerals. The anthocyanins that give the fruit its red color capture damaging free radicals, and thereby help prevent disease. Cherries are also reputed to promote healthy skin and reduce cellulite. And they also contain very few calories - just 55 per 100 grams of fruit.
