Sydney Pollack, the Academy award winning director of such films as "Out of Africa" and "Tootsie" has died at the age of 73. He was first nominated for an Oscar in 1969 for the depression era drama "they shoot horses, don't they?" and most recently won resounding acclaim for his participation - as both producer and actor - in "Michael Clayton
