Germany's most popular island Sylt has become an increasingly expensive place to live. Few local people can now afford to buy real estate on the island. And rental prices have also exploded. Entire villages have been bought up by wealthy investors who have their main abode elsewhere. Many locals have been forced to move to the mainland and commute to work each day on the island.
