A little more than two weeks after the introduction of Apple's iTunes Music Store in Germany, T-Mobile, Europe's second-largest mobile phone company, is introducing a service that allows its customers to download CD-quality songs to their mobile phones. Songs on "Ear Phone," sell for €1.50 on the continent and 1.5 pounds in Britain (a third more expensive than iTunes). They currently work on five different mobile phone headsets, but a total of 12 models are expected by year's end. The company is currently offering 500 songs for download, but they are truncated versions, with only 90 to 120 second clips. But the company is promising 250,000 full-length singles by December.
