The weather warning comes after heavy rains during the 2023 El Nino period caused devastating flooding and landslides in parts of Tanzania.     

The Tanzania Meteorological Authority states flooding could affect communities in high-risk areas, while vulnerable infrastructure, including roads and bridges, could also be affected.

Residents say they are concerned about the potential impact on homes, businesses, agriculture and livelihoods.
