General Motors' German subsidiary has unveiled new 1.6-liter gasoline and diesel engines for its mainstay Astra family and other models. We take a look at the 147-kilowatt ECOTEC turbocharged gasoline engine in the sporty Astra GTC and the 100-kW CDTI "Whisper Diesel" in the Astra Sports Tourer. Is it as quiet as its name suggests?
