Roaring engines and a thirst for speed and fuel are what most people think when they hear the word 'Porsche'. But this Porsche is different: The Panamera Plug-in-Hybrid remains almost silent when driven through a winter landscape.

The Panamera SE Hybrid is different. The first Porsche plug-in hybrid can drive almost soundlessly through snow. The luxury sedan was made into a plug-in ahead of its more racy relatives, the Cayenne and 918 Spyder super sport. The Panamera takes four hours to recharge AND there's also a 3-liter V6 engine under the hood. An electric motor is located between the internal combustion engine and transmission. When it is not engaged in powering the car, it works like a generator and converts energy into electricity to recharge the battery.
