The Battle for Mosul: Final Blow for IS?

Amir Musawy is an Iraqi journalist, based in Berlin. He says: "A military victory over IS in Mosul means a possibility of a fresh start for Iraq.”

 


  Daniel Gerlach is the founder and editor-in-chief of Zenith, a magazine on the islamic world. He says: “A military victory in Mosul is not enough. The anti-IS alliance has to explain to the people in Mosul what the political future of their city looks like."

 Alan Posener  is a political commentator for the Berlin daily Die Welt. He believes: “ISIS will soon be history. But what happens then? If the West leaves the region to itself, Sunni rage will create an even more brutal successor.”
