The Bavarian Alps

There are some spectacular views to be enjoyed in the Bavarian Alps- especially from the Skywalk AlpspiX on the Alpspitze slopes, or from the walk-in telescope near Mittenwald in the Karwendel mountains.

You don't need to be a veteran mountaineer to reach the summit of the Zugspitze - you just need to hop aboard the rack railway, which carries some 25 million tourists up Germany's highest mountain every year. Less than 10 kilometers away, the ultra-modern Skywalk AlpspiX on the slopes of the Alpspitze is a major tourist attraction that can be reached by cable-car.

The Zugspitze region is a paradise for mountaineers and hikers - but they do need some experience and the right equipment. And those who'd rather just sit back and enjoy the view can always book a flight in a light aircraft.
