Private schools are nothing new for Germany but the idea of running a chain ofprivate schools is different. For some parents the concept has come at the right time as German schools have consistently underperformed in recent years, according to the international PISA survey. A growing number of parents are prepared to send their kids to private tuition. The company Phorms has responded to this by setting up four schools and it plans to build more in the future. It's bilingual system of teaching has even received an award from the German government. The schools, however, are expensive so not everyone can afford to send their children there.
