The US is producing more oil than any country ever has, despite pledging to reduce emissions. The promise is that this new oil boom will bring much needed jobs and cheaper fuel. But for everyday people, the boom has limited benefits and comes with dire consequences.

The video explores the environmental and social consequences and costs of the US oil boom. This boom has led to environmental degradation, including issues like orphaned wells, which are abandoned oil wells that pose risks to the environment and public health. The video highlights the tension between economic growth and the urgent need to address climate change.
