The deaths of three German soldiers in Afghanistan spark a political debate in Berlin

German Defence Minister, Franz Josef Jung has warned militants in Afghanistan that German troops will fight back if attacked. He made the comments after the deaths of three Bundeswehr soldiers. The issue has sparked fresh political debate here in Germany. Jung has denied that German troops are actually at war in Afghanistan. However, the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Armed forces, Reinhold Robbe, warned about playing down the dangers of the deployment.
