From a Kenyan slum to a job in Saudi Arabia

Because of the coronavirus, many people in Kenya have lost their jobs. In Nairobi's largest slum, a struggling family is dependent on money their daughter sends from Saudi Arabia. She is one of millions of migrant workers.

Around 164 million people work abroad. Many of them support families and help their homeland by sending billions in remittances. Now new technology is making it easier; using it will help the next generation.

A labor dispute in Germany's meat industry

Migrant workers from Romania are getting support from a union in their fight for better working conditions and more pay in Germany's meat processing industry. Most of them just want to support their families back home.

New prospects for Indian migrant workers

Millions of Indian migrant workers have lost their job in the past year due to the coronavirus pandemic and government lockdowns. Many have returned to their home villages and some are now getting vocational training.
