The EU finance ministers want to ensure a strong euro

Germany and France are calling on the European Commission to speed up proposals for regulating derivatives trading in the EU. The two countries see the latest volatility on markets in response to news out of Hungary and Great Britain as a sign that the EU should accelerate and even intesify work on short selling and derivative legislation. Leaders want more transparency and are seeking proposals before the July meeting of EU finance ministers.
