It started off as Daimler-Benz... then it became DaimlerChrysler... and now, if all goes as planned, it's going to be plain old "Daimler". The German carmaker split from its loss-making US division - and share-holders are being asked to approve the change of name at a special meeting today. Most of them will be glad to put the unhappy Chrysler episode behind them - but many would like the see the name "Benz" incorporated back into the company name.
