The German election campaign at Gamescom

For the first time, top German politicians are campaigning at Gamescom. In the new Election Campaign Arena, they field questions from digital natives. They're hoping to get young people thinking about politics.

Gamescom in Cologne is considered Europe's leading computer-game trade fair. So politicians from Germany's major parties are utilizing the event to try to win over young voters - young people they can often no longer reach through the traditional channels. In the new Election Campaign Arena, they answer questions from the gaming community. The event is emceed by famous German YouTubers like LeFloid and PietSmiet. It's to be live-streamed on the video-sharing platform as well.
