The European Union is planning to expand its military mission in Africa. Along with a larger force in Mali, plans are underway to send troops to Central African Republic. It’s still unclear whether Germany will take part, and in what capacity. Many German politicians say the Bundeswehr should not participate in any new foreign deployments.
