A German parliamentary committe has just started its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the near collapse of one of the country's leading banks - Hypo Real Estate. A series of executive decisions critics claim were negligent led the bank to the brink. It was saved by 100 Billion Euros in government guarentees and nationalizaiton.
