The Horrors of Oradour - Remembering Franco-German history

They went from being arch enemies to becoming close friends. Former wartime foes Germany and France managed that thanks largely to the historic Élysée Treaty, which was signed 50 years ago. But in the French town of Oradour, there are still signs of the hatred that once existed. The Nazis destroyed the village and executed its people.

Even today the ruins of Oradour can still make those events of the past seem palpable.
