The International Criminal Court issues a landmark warrant for the arrest of Sudan's president for war crimes

The International Criminal Court has issued a warrant for the arrest of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir for war crimes in Sudan's western Darfur region. But the three-judge panel stopped short of charging him with genocide, as requested by prosecutors. Bashir is the first serving head of state to be charged by the ICC.
